Carved Ruby and Turquoise Ring

An uncommon ruby is the centerpiece of this ring. While most rubies are faceted or shaped into cabochons, this gem was fashioned into an orb with scalloped sides. Its post-cutting weight is a considerable 100.96 carats. Atop the gem is a round blue turquoise which contrasts against the ruby’s dark purplish red. When viewed from above, the jewels emulate a flower. An 18k yellow gold band completes the design.
