Round beads of black mother of pearl are strung on coordinating thread, while narrow tubes of mother of pearl are dispersed throughout. Both types of mother of pearl are created naturally by nacre within oyster shells, forming an iridescent luster. High standard and quality cut of mother of pearl is esteemed. The collective weight of the 1054 beads is 1082.8 carats. Each strand features an 18k yellow gold link on each end. All five strands are united together on round links. A knot and toggle closes the 38 inch long necklace.
